Blogging without a purpose since May 2006.
Christmas morning this year was one of the first in a year that I actually had at home. Normally, we spend the days before Christmas drving between Akron and Dayton, where my my extended family is. This year, since my great-grandmother lives with us now, we didn't go to Akron, because she can't handle an eight hour drive. Also, it was because that's where my mom side of the family is, and now that my parents are divorced, there wasn't any point for my dad to take us up there.
On a lighter note though, Christmas was quite fun this year. We drove to Ohio on the 22nd, right after we got out of school, and went to my grandmother's house, where we stay every year. On the 23rd, all of my extended family and my cousin's assorted other girlfriends and husbands (my cousin is a newly wed) came over, which in all, is about 21 people. Every year, my grandmother spends several hours preparing for it, and she makes her infamous J Cookies. It's been a family tradition for several years now. They're candy cane cookies, that look like J's. Since her name is Joann, we have this thing where we tell her it's self-centered of her to make cookies in the shape of the first letter of her name. It's been going on for the longesttt time. If it weren't such a tradition, she probably wouldn't be making them any more.
I made out like a bandit this year. I got several guitar related things, my new computer (which was an early Christmas present), and tickets to two of the shows coming here soon. I also got a Polaroid camera, and an old Canon SLR film camera, which weren't exactlly Christmas presents. My grandparents had them lying around their house, and they didn't use them, and they know I'm intersted in photography, so they gave them to me and said to consider them mine. I just have to get the rolls of film developed.
